Supporting young wheelchair users through Whizz Kidz

£4000 to support clinical work with children in wheelchairs through Whizz Kidz a charity which provides made-to-measure wheelchairs and mobility equipment for children and young people up to 18 who may not receive the right support through the NHS. Their team of experienced mobility therapists and engineers make sure every wheelchair fits, works for daily life, and supports independence — with support for families too. They build and adjust each piece of equipment so it’s comfortable, safe, and perfectly suited to every child’s needs. And to keep each young person moving forward as they grow, the Family Liaison Team is always on hand to help organise repairs, reviews and give guidance, ensuring families feel supported every step of the way. The right wheelchair not only improves mobility but also transforms lives at school, at home and beyond – it means freedom, independence and control for young wheelchair users.

“Getting my lightweight wheelchair and power add-on was life changing. Before, the heavy wheelchair stopped me from being independent – I couldn’t easily hang out with friends or use public transport.”
“Whizz Kidz are amazing, they’ve allowed our son to have his independence and his freedom, and they’ve changed our son’s life immeasurably”
