Noah’s Ark Hospice Sibling Weekend Away

Noah’s Ark provides specialised palliative and end-of-life care for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families.

The Barnaby Webber Foundation’s award is supporting a family so that siblings of seriously ill children can be part of a specially organised residential weekend. The charity creates an unforgettable experience, from rock-climbing and canoeing to archery and zip-lining, plus a silent disco.

The weekend will offer what is for many, a first experience of a few nights away from home to feel like children again, making friends and memories.

Update: Noah’s Ark: Siblings Weekend Away, August 2025

“It makes me so happy to see the event we plan for so long come together, and be fantastic. Hearing the young people say ” I don’t want to leave” warms my heart.” Seniz – Family Activities Coordinator

Thanks to the support of The Barnaby Webber Foundation, the Noah’s Ark Siblings Weekend Away was filled with fun, laughter and precious memories. The children took part in everything from axe throwing and kayaking to treetop challenges, campfires and even a fancy-dress football match. The weekend ended with a special celebration evening where each sibling was recognised for their achievements.

Most importantly, the weekend gave these children a chance to just be children – to relax, have fun and spend time with others who really understand what they’re going through. It also gave them a safe space to open up, share their feelings and be themselves, which can often be hard given the extra responsibilities they carry as siblings of children who are seriously unwell, or those who have sadly lost a brother or sister. The siblings came home with more confidence, new and stronger friendships and memories they’ll treasure for a long time.

“Being away with Noah’s Ark is the best, we get to make memories and have a lot of fun. I feel safe when I’m out with you guys. I never want to stop coming.” A sibling who attended the weekend
