Southwest Manchester Cricket Club Juniors new cricket covers unveiled!

The Barnaby Webber Foundation is delighted to support the purchase of a set of push-on covers, to protect the SWMCC’s junior wicket, ensuring more games are playable each season. Carol (BWF Trustee) and her son Tom ( Barney’s best friend) were there to celebrate the unveiling of the new covers.

SWMCC juniors is a grassroots cricket club with 120 members aged 5-16, drawn from some of the 40% most deprived communities in the country.
They welcome players of all abilities, taking pride in the diversity of the club and actively encourage children with additional needs or disabilities, many who have been turned away from other clubs.

Tom was able to say a few words to the under 11, boys’ and girls’ teams, before they played a match. His heartfelt words positively impacted the children and parents present. We’re hugely proud of Tom and how he represented Barney through the Foundation supporting young people in a game that they, as Barney did, love to play.
